FLUX NEWS is a newsletter that covers important areas of air-sea flux research, coordinated experiments and relevant datasets and publications. It is a platform for discussing air-sea interaction studies in CLIVAR − one of the core projects of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP). Within CLIVAR, FLUX NEWS primarily focuses on the objectives of the Global Synthesis and Observations Panel (GSOP) and the Ocean Heat Content (OHC) initiative, while also closely co-operates with the other regional and global CLIVAR panels.

We also invite opinions on how to better facilitate surface flux related activities and to provide better synergy across the groups and agencies. Any important novel scientific results in the area of air-sea interaction are also welcome. IMILAST – establishing more truth in numerical cyclone tracking

SAIL/IORAS together with as many as 12 other groups around the world started a project focused on the development of comprehensive intercomparison and validation of numerical schemes for tracking cyclones.

Better climate observation and prediction can only be achieved if we minimize the uncertainties of the global energy balance and increase the accuracy of the estimation of variability of air-sea fluxes on all time scales.
